Today, January 25, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a ground stop at LaGuardia Airport (LGA), and has reported delays at other airports along the East Coast due to a shortage of air traffic control staff.  A shortage of workers at the FAA’s facility in Washington DC prompted the ground stop at LaGuardia Airport (LGA). Delays have also been reported at Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), and Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). In addition, a staffing shortage at the FAA facility that oversees air traffic in the Jacksonville, FL area could impact flights at Jacksonville International Airport (JAX).

Passengers transiting these airports should reconfirm flight status before setting out and expect associated delays.
